Community guidelines
Explore is the public side of Plantcare. These guidelines keep it a good place to share plants and learn from other people growing them - please read them before you post.

01What Explore is for
Explore is the public feed inside Plantcare. It is a place to share photos of your own plants and what you have learned growing them - a new leaf, a rescue that pulled through, a mistake worth passing on. Post the plants you are actually growing, and keep the conversation useful to other people trying to do the same.
02What is not allowed
To keep Explore worth scrolling, the following is not allowed:
- Content that is not a plant photo.
- Harassment, hate, or threats directed at anyone.
- Nudity or sexual content.
- Violence or self-harm.
- Spam, scams, and advertising.
- Anything you do not have the right to post.
- Anything targeting a private individual.
03Young people and safety
Plantcare asks for a date of birth the first time that a person opens Explore or shares a photo there. A person under 18 years can read Explore, but cannot post, comment, or like. This rule keeps a young person away from a conversation with a person that they do not know.
Before a young person reads Explore, the app shows a safety reminder. The reminder tells them not to give their full name, their school, or their address. It also tells them to speak to an adult that they trust if a person makes them uncomfortable.
An adult can manage these features. Open Settings, then Parental controls. The first visit asks a question for an adult, and then asks the adult to set a four digit code. With that code, an adult can turn off the Explore feed and can turn off shared gardens.
A shared garden opens with an invite code that one person gives to another person. It is a private space for a family or for friends, and it is not a public feed.
04How this is enforced
Every post is checked automatically before it appears in Explore. Beyond that automated check, anyone can report a post or comment, and content reported by several people is hidden from Explore automatically.
We are a small team without a full-time moderation desk. We choose honesty over a promise we cannot keep. Automated screening and user reports are the mechanism, not a queue of humans that reads every post. We can remove content or withdraw access to Explore where these rules are broken.
05Blocking
If someone's posts or comments are not for you, you can block them from the ⋯ menu on any of their posts, on any of their comments, or on their profile. Once blocked, their content stops appearing in your Explore feed and their comments stop appearing on your posts.
You can undo this at any time from Settings → Blocked accounts, which lists everyone you have blocked and lets you unblock them individually.
06Reporting
You can report any post or comment from the same ⋯ menu. Pick the reason that fits best - spam or scam, harassment or hate, nudity or sexual content, violence or self-harm, or something else. We do not tell the person you reported who filed it.
For anything urgent, or if a report does not feel like enough, reach us directly via the contact page.
